Dubbed by the artist as the "piano project", Villa Bonita delivers a guitar-less exploratory journey across 6 original compositions. The EP is a dedication to Daniel's partner and the home they share together.
Recorded right after finishing Moon Race, Villa Bonita steps away from jazz towards popular music sonorities with heavy nods to the avant-garde. The artist excluded the guitar - his main instrument - from the outing in hopes of delving into a more direct compositional approach within his rather rudimentary keyboard skills. The musical style on the EP is heavily informed by North American popular music, although maintaining a personal style distinctive aesthetics.
